extraordinarily | timeline.

Since the Haruhi timeline is very complicated and sometimes hard to explain, I'm just going to do the easy way out and list the events by each novel, and then add in Someday in the Rain (the anime only episode), the manga-only chapters, and Sound Around (the drama CD).

Also, as references and documents for further detail, I shall link the order of events shown chronologically in this timeline as well as the English translation of The Observation of Haruhi Suzumiya.

This timeline is basically a condensed version of the major events that happen around Haruhi. Meaning that if Haruhi is not seen or mentioned in a certain scene for a certain part, it will most likely be left unmentioned in this timeline.

☇ Melancholy.

• Haruhi goes to North High; introduces her self as, "Suzumiya Haruhi. From East Middle School. I have no interest in ordinary humans. If there are any aliens, time travelers, sliders, or espers here, come join me. That is all."
• Meets Kyon, and has a short conversation with him about how serious her introduction was. And she was very serious about it. It was not a joke at all whatsoever.
• Taniguchi, one of Haruhi's classmates since middle school explains all about how strange Haruhi Suzumiya is. Examples of her strangeness include: dating all the guys (longest was a week, shortest was five minutes) and then dumping them, drawing weird symbols on school grounds, etcetera.
• Kyon starts to notice more weird things about Haruhi, such as the fact that she changes her hairstyle every day to ward off aliens. And that she's joined every single club on a trial basis until dumping them off due to the fact that they're all very, very boring. She even strips in front of the boys when it's time for gym class.
• And soon enough, Kyon starts to have more and more conversations with Haruhi about various things. The fact that Kyon even manages to spark up a conversation (and make her talk for long periods of time) surprises many people. The first conversation Kyon has talks about the fact that she changes hairstyles everyday. And the day after that is mentioned, she chops her hair off. In fact, a conversation with Kyon sparks up a big idea for her: to make her own club!
• Haruhi then goes off to drag Kyon into this club, forcing him to find out what the requirements are to make said club while she goes to find the clubroom. And the clubroom she has in mind, you ask? The literary club's room.
